Spring is here, which means it’s time to finally put away all those winter holiday decorations and get reader for Easter! An Easter egg hunts can be the perfect way for your friends and family to celebrate the holiday, but if you’re confined to an apartment you may feel like you’re too pressed for space to make the hunt a good one.

Utilize all the unexpected space you can – refrigerator, bathtub, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, sock drawers, in between piles of towels … you get the idea. Just make sure to avoid any possible hazards, like forgetting about a plastic egg in the oven before it’s turned on!
2. Create a scavenger hunt
One fun, and space saving, Easter egg hunt idea is to only use as many eggs as you need for clues for a scavenger hunt, where the real prize is in the basket at the end! You’ll probably want to hide the basket in the most obscure place possible if your hiding spots are limited.
The Easter eggs can hold clues to take your hunters on a small journey (repeating places if need be for different clues), and once you give them a runaround, they can be led to the Easter basket.
3. Do a jellybean hunt
What better way to do an Easter egg hunt on a smaller scale than to shrink the eggs themselves! Instead of those bulkier plastic eggs, hide Jellybeans around your home and set up a reward basket for the person who finds the most.
Using Jellybeans allows you to hide the prizes in places where plastic eggs would be too obvious. Just make sure you remember how many you hide and where you hide them so leftover Jellybeans don’t attract ants!
4. Enlist the whole apartment complex to join in the hunt
When it comes to fun parties, the more the merrier! Consider hosting a complex-wide Easter egg hunt that everyone can take part in for a small buy-in ($5 for a large chocolate egg supply is a great deal!), as long as it’s not against the complex rules.
If that seems like more work than you’d like to commit yourself for, suggest it to your apartment’s management as a way for tenants to get to know each other better. Many apartments already like to host events for their tenants, and an Easter egg hunt is a fun and collaborative way for neighbors to get friendlier. Hallways and common areas are fair game, and this way your own apartment won’t be a mess after.
